Safety specifications

SEEN decals are made with 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Graphic Film 680 — an engineer-grade retroreflective vinyl used on emergency vehicles, commercial trucks and road signage worldwide. This is the same material trusted by transport authorities, rated by 3M for up to 9 years of performance life.

Class 100

Ghost Silver achieves AS/NZS 1906.1 Class 100 — the Australian standard for retroreflective sheeting. Our highest-visibility finish with a retroreflection coefficient of 100.

Two finishes

Ghost Silver (coefficient 100) is our highest-visibility option. Stealth Black (coefficient 30) trades some brightness for maximum daytime stealth. Both light up white in headlights — Ghost Silver is simply brighter.

9 years

3M rates the base film for up to 9 years of outdoor performance. Resists UV, rain, mild chemicals and fuel. Retains reflectivity even when wet.

Our story

Why we built SEEN

We started SEEN because we saw the same thing every parent sees: teenagers riding e-bikes at dusk on roads that weren't designed for them, wearing nothing reflective because nothing reflective looked like something they'd choose.

So we made a different kind of safety product. One that works like a road sign when headlights find it, but looks and feels like a design choice the rest of the time. Stealth retroreflective decals in a tight palette of neutrals — because the only thing that matters at night is a bright, clean return, and the only thing that matters by day is that they'll actually wear it.

We're building SEEN from the Northern Beaches of Sydney using 3M™ Scotchlite™ retroreflective film, tested to meet the Australian retroreflective standard (AS/NZS 1906.1), and designing every collection with input from the riders themselves — because if a teenager won't put it on their helmet, it doesn't matter how well it works.

Common questions

SEEN decals use retroreflective vinyl — a material that bounces light directly back toward its source. In daylight, they look like a matte, neutral design. When a car's headlights hit them at night, they flare bright silver-white, making the rider instantly visible to the driver.

The 3M 680 film is commonly used to decorate plastic helmets and similar surfaces. The pressure-activated adhesive bonds well to helmet shells and metal bike frames. Note: the 3M 680 is a permanent application — once firmly applied, it is designed to stay on for the life of the helmet.

The 3M Scotchlite 680 film used in SEEN decals is rated by 3M for up to 9 years of outdoor performance on flat vertical surfaces. It resists UV, rain, mild chemicals and retains reflectivity even when wet. Real-world durability on curved helmet surfaces is being tested — we'll publish results before first dispatch.

SEEN decals are die-cut from 3M™ Scotchlite™ 680 retroreflective film. Ghost Silver achieves AS/NZS 1906.1 Class 100 — the Australian and New Zealand standard for retroreflective sheeting. Stealth Black has a retroreflection coefficient of 30 — lower but still effective. We're also pursuing an ACCC-approved certification trade mark for independent verification.
